The old bicycle pedicab, soldered and patched with countless joints, the paint color by hand is also faded and missing, the roof to protect passengers from sun and rain is also gone, all screws are loose and wobbly. The bicycle pedicab has no economic value, worth a few scrap metals coins, but this is the legacy of an old man who has been homeless for decades and it is also a spiritual legacy for him. He cried when he saw this cyclo again. Mr. Xuan’s life, who is 70 years old, is only attached to the cycle, which is gradually ending his life with him.
Cyclo is both a means of making money for him with daily transportation of goods and a few acquaintances. At the same time, this is also his house when the night comes, whether it is sunny or rainy, morning or evening. Saigon is bustling day and night, the richest in Vietnam and magnificent in the evening, but there are still homeless people with shabby cyclos, hungry, lonely, and cold.
We opened our doors to him and asked everyone to take care of him. The first few days he returned, he panicked and cried especially at night, later he knew that he was welcome here, didn’t push him back on the road, so he gradually stopped shouting and knew how to say thank you to everyone. when taken care of.
We have a house called Loving House with 8 rooms for people in the final stages to take care of homeless people at the end of their lives, hoping they can live in humanity and die. Today, this house welcomes him. He has been healed by humanity and peace, hopefully, these are the good days of his life and of our Lifeguards.
Thank you to everyone who introduced him, cared for him, and funded the Protect Life program including helping people at the end of life. Our door is always open to welcome all who are infelicitous, poor, and miserable life.
